Foundation Trouble...

Hi All,

My addiction to foundation has taken me to a new rather pricey new purchase, as I have previously said I recently changed foundations from Nars Sheerglow to Estee Lauder doublewear. Don't get me wrong, when I purchased Estee Lauder Doublewear I instantly fell in love. But over the last few weeks my skin has had a major breakout which never happens and doesn't seem to be shifting. The only thing I think it could be is my foundation. Doublewear is quite thick and I think that this may have upset my skin a little.
Not only the breakout but I just wasn't feeling happy anymore with the overall look of my foundation. On my lunch break I popped into House of Fraser in my quest to find something new and better suited to me. I first went over to the Chanel counter as I have heard so much about Pro Lumiere, Matt Lumiere etc. But the SA said she would be brutally honest with me and let me know that they are discontinuing four of their foundations to introduce a new one in January.
I didn't really know what else to try until I remembered that alot of bloggers had raved about the Gurlains Lingerie De Peau. The SA was lovely and she matched me up to shade 03 which is Beige Natural which suits me perfectly. She only had one tiny sample packet to give me though :( I tried this today for work and it is heaven, it does exactly what is says it should do. I had to buy it! It is the most expensive foundation I have used but hopefully will be worth it. It retails at around £35 for 30ml but I ordered mine from Debenhams as they had an offer which meant I got it for £30 which I am pleased about. £5 saved!

I will pop up a full review when my foundation arrives with pictures so everyone can make their own minds up.
Has anyone else had any trouble with certain foundations breaking them out?

My Everyday Makeup

Hi All,

Well I love reading other blog posts and being nosey and seeing what other girls makeup choices are. So I thought I would show you all what my usual everyday makeup is. This can vary but what I have picked are all my go-to items this month.

Face
Origins VitaZing Moisuriser
Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation in Sand
Estee Lauder Doublewear concealer

Eyes
Soap & Glorys Make Yourself Youthful Eye Cream
Loreal Volume Million Lash Extra Black Mascara
MUA Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow pallett
Loreal Super Liner
MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder

Eyebrows
Benefits Browzings

Cheeks
Benefit Hoola (to contour)
Benefit Coralista (apples of cheeks)
Benefit 10 (I use the highlighter)

I couldn't pick a lipstick as my lip colours vary from day to day. My usual lip choice is lipstick and the colour I usually go for is neautral nudey colours.

left to right - Mac Shygirl, Mac High Tea, Mac Hue, Mac Creme d'nude,Benefit Mod Squad,Estee Lauder Crystal Baby

These are the lipsticks that I pick up the most. I usually go for more of a nude lip, or my lips only better colour as I tend to define my eyes a lot more. I am getting more experimental, I have put the Mac Vegas Volt on my Christmas list this year. I tested it out at the weekend in Debenhams and I love it, it's a cremesheen formula which is my favourite by Mac.

I will pop up a post soon to show you all the makeup featured in this post on my face :)

The weekend is drawing to a close and I have to get my things ready for work and all that boring stuff. Hope you all had a great weekend

Novembers Glossybox...

Hey all,

You have probably seen a tonne of reviews on this months glossybox. But as everyone gets a mix of different goodies and has different opinions, I thought I would share mine.

Firstly I have to say I was a little, actually no I was very disappointed in this months box which has now made me unsubscribe.

This is what I received in my glossy box

The box consists of:

Arbonne Ultra Hydrating Hand Creme
Dead Sea Spa Magik Delicate Boosting Mask
Illamasqua Freak Eau De Parfum
Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

I just don't think that I was wowed by anything this month, However I am not saying it was all bad as I am looking forward to trying the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer as I have never tried a pre-shampoo treatment before. I think I am now going to subscribe for the Feel Unique beauty box as it look more up my street.

Does anyone have anymore beauty box recommendations?

Getting to know me...

You have probably all seen these questions doing the rounds on other various beauty blogs. I think it's a great way to find out what products they use and wether or not when they review a product you can relate to it. I love all the beauty blogs I follow but when I find out one of them has the same skin type as me it makes me read through absolutely everything for advice and tips that I am not aware of. So here it goes

Skincare!!

How many times do you wash your face daily?
I wash my face twice a day. Once thoroughly in the morning with my Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, followed by the Liz Earle skin tonic. Then in the evenings I usually give it a good going over with a simple face wipe, Loreal eye make up remover and my Liz Earle skin tonic. Fresh as a daisy for bed.

What skin type do you have?
I would say I have oily skin, I am always trying to find products to hold the shine at bay. My skin is also prone to the odd breakouts which I hate.

What is your current facial wash?
I am currently using the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, which I am sure you have heard about as it's a massive hit in the blogging community, hence how I found out about it.

Do you exfoliate?
Yes I try and exfoliate once a week as I wear fake tan and feel that if I exfoliate mid-week it gives my sking a much needed booost.

What brand do you use?
Origins, Modern Friction

What moisturiser do you use?
I am using Origins Starting Over which is oil free. It also has Mimosa, Argan Leaf Extract and Green Algae to boost collagen and makes my skin more plump and ready for the day ahead.

Do you have freckles?
I have a few on my nose, they are more pronounced in the summer from all the sun.

Do you use eye cream?
Yes, I am currently using Soap & Glorys Make Yourself Youthful eye cream which claims it will give 'fresher, tighter, brighter eyes'. Its a lovely cream which leaves a sheen under your eye. I really want to get the Origins GinZing next time to try as i love Origins products.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I wouldn't say acne but I do suffer with the odd breakout on my cheeks and chin.

Make-up!!

What foundation do you use?
I'm currently using Estee Lauders Doublewear which I love. It really does cover and imperfections and gives a lovely coverage. I also think this foundation has helped me reduce the shine throughout the day aswell.

How about concealer?
Estee Lauders Doublewear concealer. Again, this is great and really does well at covering dark circels and imperfections.

Do you know your undertone colour?
MAC matched me originally with a pink undertone which i don't think suited my skin. I think I am better suited to a warmer undertone.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love them and think they can look stunning on other people but I find them to fiddly to apply and they irritate me.

What brand of mascara do you use?
I have tried sooooo many mascaras yet I always come back to Loreals Volume Million.

What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
I use a MAC 190 to apply my foundation, I then have various MAC and Benefit brushes for my blusher, eyeshadow etc.

Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
Not a primer as such, I usually just pop some of my Doublewear concealer before my eyeshadow.

For the face?
No, I don't like putting too many products on my face apart from my moisuriser as I ahve the dreaded shine.

What is your favourite eyeshadow?colour or shade?
I like mainly neautral colours, beiges, bronze. I have been using the MUA Heaven and Earth pallett recently which I love.

Do you use pencil or liquid liner?
Both, I use Loreals Super Liner on my top eyelid and then Macs Eye Kohl in Smolder on my waterline.

What is your favourite lipstick?
I have a few that I alternate throughout the week for my day time look. I tend to go for nudes as I define my eyes alot. I love MAC Creme D'Nude, MAC High Tea, MAC Hue and MAC Shy Girl.

How about lipgloss?
I'm much more of a lipstick girl but I do love Bourjous 3D effect lipgloss in Poetic Brun and Benefit lipgloss in Tropical punch.

What is your favourite blush to use?
I am completely in love with Benefit Blushers I think I own every one they have made! Dandelion, Dallas, Coralista, 10, Hoola.

Do you buy your makeup on Ebay?
No i haven't purchased anything like that from ebay, have never though about it.

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes, I love finding a bargain. I love Bourjos, MUA, Loreal and Maybelline.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
The white eyeliner on the top lash line thats almost luminous. Yuck.

Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick or eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
Neutral for day to day wear but a nice bright lip every now and again is good. I need to experiment more with colours.

Which celebrity always has great makeup?
Millie from Made in Chelsea. Her makeup looks so glowy and fresh all the time. Love it.

If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?
Mascara, I have pea eyes without it. It really opens your face up.

Could you leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes but I don't really like it. I feel more confident with make up and less scruffy.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
No! My boyfriend sais I do but i'm not too sure i beleive him haha.

In your opinion what is the BEST makeup line?
I would say MAC but that is purely based on their lipsticks. Each brand offers somethign completely different so thats a hard question.

What do you think of makeup?
I adore make up. I think it is the best invention ever created! I love how it can make you feel so confident. Even a different shade of lipstick can take you from cute to sexy in a matter of seconds.

Clothes Show 2011

Hi All,

I have booked my tickets for this years clothes show which I am extremely excited about! I went last year with my mum and it was fab. For those who have never been, it's a beauty/fashion addicts dream. Not only do you have tonnes of stalls to browse you get tickets to watch the fashion show, which last year was amazing, and loads of freebies as you are passing by.
Some of the brands that will be there this year that I am looking forward to visiting are Benefit, Eylure, Laurens Way (still yet to try her tan). Last year I met Gok Wan, which I was thrilled about and he was lovely so I will be on the look out this year too as there is always a lot of celebrities there.
Is anyone else going to the clothes show this year?

Foundation - My number one beauty must have

I know I am not the only one thinking that the most important item in your beauty bag is foundation (closely followed by mascara). I have been wearing foundation since I was around 13/14, I had bad skin when my hormones kicked in and remember being given by my mum the left overs of her foundation, I think it was max factor. This was when my love for foundation began...

I have purchased foundations from everything to Rimmel, Loreal Clinique, Chanel, and Dior to name a few but nothing was a keeper. Then I found Mac Studio fix fluid in NC30. I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. It gives great coverage which is buildable, but started feeling a bit 'cakey' and heavy on my skin.

After doing some research I found Nars Sheerglow foundation in Punjab, this is beautiful when first applied, great coverage and leaves a lovely glow to the skin with out looking greasy...or so I thought. I don't know if its just a change in my skin or what but after my day at work my face had literally slid off! Not good and I was really dissapointed because i really wanted this to be the one.

I am currently using Estee Lauder Doublewear in Sand, my boyfriend treated me to this in Harrods on my birthday and I have to say...i'm in love! I have found the one. When applied with my Mac 190 brush its divine (I applied with fingers first and the results were not as good). But this foundation gives me everything I love, it matches to my skintone, its medium to full coverage and it lasts all day without having to reapply.

I am going to post some pictures very soon of the foundation and give a full review :)

Has anyone got any foundation must haves?? I am always open to finding new ones to try.
